Talking Teens

A 4-week course to understand and connect with your teenager.

A four week programme to increase parents' understanding of teenagers feelings and behaviour.

Parenting teenagers can feel challenging—but the right support can make all the difference. This practical and reassuring 4-week course is designed to help parents and carers better understand teenage behaviour, emotions, and development, using the latest research on adolescence developed with Dr John Coleman.

Across four sessions, you’ll explore communication, family relationships, decision-making, and strategies to reduce conflict—giving you the tools to build stronger, calmer connections at home. This course offers a supportive space to learn, reflect, and feel more confident in navigating the teenage years.

Delivered by Amanda Collyer, Student Support and Wellbeing Manager at Howards of Effingham School.

Supported by Bookham and Horsley Rotary, West Horsley Parish Council and Effingham Parish Council.
