Autumn Season On Sale Now

Creative community

A catalyst for creativity.

Our mission is that this special house and estate will host community-led projects celebrating art in all forms.

A Creative Future

At West Horsley Place, we are crafting a bold new chapter in the estate’s long history — one where artists, makers, and creative enterprises will work, collaborate, and inspire.

Through partnerships that range from local makers to national organisations, the estate will become a living, breathing campus for creativity, rooted in heritage, yet open to all. Grange Park Opera is already part of this vision, presenting world-class performances each summer in a purpose-built opera house.

Visitors will be able to meet artists, learn new skills, and take part in workshops, exhibitions, and events — or simply exhale in the restorative peace of the estate. A place that celebrates the value of culture, heritage and nature.

Grange Park Opera

Founded in 1998 by Wasfi Kani CBE, Grange Park Opera has staged more than 75 productions.

When Grange Park Opera’s lease in Hampshire finalised, in 2017, the company moved to West Horsley Place, Surrey.

In spring 2015, some GPO trustees visited Bamber and Christina asking if an opera house might be built in the woods behind their orchard – it seemed an ideal spot. Christina’s face lit up and she turned to Bamber pronouncing ‘A rare and beautiful bird has just landed in our garden and would like it to stay. Of course we must welcome it!’.

In June 2016 a five-storey opera house, modelled on La Scala, Milan, was built by Martin Smith just behind the Manor House on the West Horsley Place estate.

The company stages an opera season every summer. Please visit the Grange Park Opera website for more information and booking.
