Tales After Dark is our series of intimate evening storytelling experiences for adults, each with a different theme, new tales to experience and time for a tipple.
On Bonfire Night, join resident storyteller Olivia Armstrong for one of West Horsley Place's favourite tales - the true life adventure of a shadowy footman who changed the course of history forever.
Our Guest storyteller is the Queen of Irish mythology and legend, the inimitable Kate Corkery who will be chilling the blood and warming the heart with seasonally unsettling dark Celtic folklore.
Our storytelling evenings combine history, myth and magic in a friendly atmosphere of enchantment. Arrive as a stranger but leave as a friend.
Explore the manor house after hours, with exclusive access to its ancient library, historic Stone Hall (once graced by Henry VIII), and magical Drawing Room. Fans of BBC Ghosts, will love seeing the house at night.

Olivia Armstrong, WHP’s storyteller-in-residence, who has worked with top cultural institutions like the British Museum and Westminster Abbey.
Kate Corkery is an internationally acclaimed storyteller, delighting audiences from South America to China with Irish myths, legends and folk tales. She has won a Fringe First Award for her work as a storyteller in residence at the Irish Cultural Centre in London and an Outstanding Performance of the Year for her story Sweet Shop on the Shore. Born and bred in Cork, she is now based in London.

Tours at 6.30pm and 8pm
Suitable for 16+, under 18s must be accompanied
Before or after your tour you are welcome to enjoy the bar open 6 - 9.30pm.
