Servants in Training

A 1930s Family Adventure

Step into the world of 1930s West Horsley Place and join Lady Crewe as she prepares for an important dinner party!

On this immersive family tour, children become trainee servants, mixing fresh lemonade in the historic kitchen, setting a cosy bedroom fireplace, and polishing silverware until it gleams.

When everything is ready, the distinguished guests arrive—including Queen Mary herself! Grown-ups take their places at the dining table to play their part in the evening’s grand occasion.

Designed for families with children aged 5–11, this lively one-hour experience brings real history and household traditions to life. After your tour, enjoy a wander through the gardens and try out our traditional outdoor games.

A man dressed as a 1930s servant hands a home made fire lighter to a young girl. There is a chest of drawers and fireplace in the background and other people surrounding them.
