Step into a world of enchantment this half-term as storyteller extraordinaire Pyn Stockman weaves a spell of spooky fun and wonder. Journey through folk tales of wild witches, brave children, and magical creatures — with plenty of chances to join in the adventure!

Explore the house in a special storytelling experience for families, uncovering the strange, spooky secret beneath the staircase and learning ancient ways to guard against ghosts. Along the way, play Halloween games, mix up your own witch’s potion, and dive into stories that are just the right amount of spooky for all ages.

Costumes are welcome — so why not come dressed for the occasion? A Halloween treat for the whole family!

About Pyn

Storyteller Pyn Stockman – tells folk and fairy tales, myths and legends from all around the world, with a particular love for folktales from the British Isles. Pyn lives on a boat and is based here and there on the canals. She tells stories to people of all ages and has worked with a range of communities and organisations to create new stories, the National Forest, National Trust and Secret City Arts.

All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session.

Suitable for all ages. The session will last for about an hour. Please arrive 10 mins ahead of session start to check-in.

Make a day of it: Our beautiful walled gardens will be open 10:30am-4pm with garden games provided for you to enjoy before or after your workshop.
