A Family Walk

Discover the tiny and the towering on this guided family walk, where every step uncovers small wonders of the natural world.

We’ll explore plants and wildlife from an ant’s-eye view right up to the treetops, noticing the small details and the towering canopies that make this countryside so special. Gather together natural finds along the way create your own nature treasure box, capturing special discoveries from the walk.

This experience is designed to spark curiosity, encourage observation, and enjoy time outdoors together in a beautiful setting. Come and explore, discover, and enjoy the countryside together.

Led by

Janine Gerhardt, Medical Herbalist (MNIMH) and Forest School Leader, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a warm, nature-connected approach to the session.

Practical information
  • This walk is aimed at primary school aged children and their accompanying adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the activity.

  • Please wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the day’s weather and outdoor walking. Some areas of the walk may be muddy, please wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.

  • After the walk continue to explore our 400 acre estate at your own pace. Our beautiful walled gardens will be open with garden games until 4pm for you to enjoy.  

  • Tea, coffee or squash is included.
