I am delighted to join The Mary Roxburghe Trust as Head of Development. On my first visit to West Horsley Place I was captivated by this extraordinary and beautiful estate and its potential to become a valuable asset for the local community. I feel incredibly privileged to be invited to play a part in developing the charity’s exciting plans for the future.
Bamber and Christina Gascoigne’s generous gift from the proceeds of the Sotheby’s sales of Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe’s possessions to the charity has enabled us to carry out the most urgent repairs to the house and begin planning the considerable programme of works needed to transform the estate into a vibrant arts and crafts centre. The house, gardens and estate buildings will require significant investment to carry out further repairs and allow us to open them to the public for the first time. I look forward to working with our growing band of friends and supporters to raise the funds needed to make this a reality.
As a new charity, we have much to do to put plans in place for fundraising. There will be many opportunities to get involved in supporting West Horsley Place over the coming year and I will keep you updated as our plans progress.
In the meantime, if you would like to get in touch and find out more about you could help please keep an eye on our website, e-newsletter and Facebook page or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
